My current crop of experimental apps and their chance of success:

Path – high chance of success

Zite – low chance of success

Snapseed – Medium chance of success

8mm HD – Medium chance of success

HBO Go – Medium chance of successs

XFinity TV – Medium chance of success

Newsstand – High chance of success

CNET – Medium chance of success

Sonos – High chance of success

The tried and true apps on this page are:

Netflix – awesome idea, I don’t use it as much as I thought I would

LinkedIn – I should use it more

Find Friends – Rarely use but awesome concept

Flixster – I use it weekly

Reeder – Awesome Google Reader/RSS App

Amazon – Use it in spurts, cool app

FlightTrack – Use it regularly but not as much as I used to

Fly Delta – mandatory app given my high travel

Voice Memos – Great app, use it regularly

Shazam – Use it in spurts, haven’t used it as much latley

XComics – Use it almost every day – yeah, I read comic books so there!  : )

I categorize my apps in 4-ways:

1. App Bar (bottom of the iPad – six essential apps)

2. Tier One (page one apps)

3. Page Two (second tier apps or apps that I’m trying out

4. Groupings (apps that I use occasionally or not at all that I’m holding on to for one reason ro another.

This article is about section #4, the Groupings…

First, my folders are:

Apple Apps, Art, Productivity, Entertainment, Food, Games, Lifestyle, Music, News, Sports, Social, Travel…

The apps I thought I would use a lot but that I don’t really use that much in this category?  Vimeo, Tumblr, Blogger, Google+, Web Albums, Audioboo, Yahoo Fantasy 11, MSNBC, Mashable, CNN, WSJ, NPR, AppAdvice, Eyewitness, Instacast HD, AmpiTube, MTV News, Instagram, Flickr, On the Grill, 60 Minutes, getAbstract, Todo, Google, Penultimate, Contacts, FaceTime, PhotoBooth, Numbers, Keynote, GarageBand, Pages, Calendar, iMovie, Remote

The apps that I use more regularly on Section #4: NFL 11, CarZen, Realtor.com, OpenTable, IMDb, ABC Player, Jumbo Calculator, Dictionary, YouTube…

Essentially, other than core apps such as YouTube, this is the graveyard, where tested apps go to die.

Frasier Fir is gentle on the hands but a little hard to shape.  This year’s wreath took us about two hours to make.  Megan picked all of the adornments…
